HEAVY IMPORTATIONS.
Heavy importations of tea into the Dominion during the five months endig May 31st arc shown by tho official returns. The total quantity for the period was 8,110,4511 b, compared with 3,164,5281 bin the corresponding five months of 1919. Wellington showed importations of 2,285,7781 b for the five months, about 5,00,0001 b more than the port’s figures for the whole of 1919. T h e. largest importation of tea was 9,938,0171 b in 191 J, this quantity heing equivalent to 8.721 b per head of population, including Maoris. The imports during tho last five years averaged 8,788,2911 b, equal to about 7.651 b ier bead.
