NELSON, This Day. Air C. J, Deck, the well-known Nelson dentist;’ but recently engaged in fruitgrowing, died suddenly of heart failure early this morning.

At the Supreme Court to-day, Mr Maeassey (Crown Prosecutor) stated that Joseph Lewis Alfred, against whom the Grand Jury brought in a- true bill on a charge of conspiracy to defraud, had concealed himself on a ship and was last .heard of at Raratonga. Mr Justice Chapman ordered the ease to he adjourned.
