The many friends of Mr and Mrs Archibald McArthur of Kokatahi and Koiterangi, will hear, with regret of the death of their daughter, Elsie Jessie which took place to-day. Deceased was a native of Hokitika and 30 years of ago and bad always beifii in pooi health.

The death of Dr James Mcßrearty senr., of Greymouth took place on Saturday, shortly after midday, after a considerable illness. He came to the Coast in 1885 and took charge of the Kumara, hospital removing to Greymouth in 1890. He leave.s two sons, one of whom —Dr. ,T. Mcßrearty jnr. lias been practising in Greymouth for a number of years. The other son, Denis has been practising as a dentist in the North Island for many years and is well known.
