Sir, —I have been advised by file Chairman of tlie Australian Imperial Force Canteens Funds Trust that it is proposed to provide out of their funds, assistancea and benefits to widows, orphans, widowed mothers and other immediate dependents of deceased soldiers, and to seriously disabled soldiers, of the Australian. Imperial Force. The funds consists of surplus monies resulting from the A-I.F. Canteens trading during the wair and amount to about £500,000. The benefits will be extended only to claimants in the above classes who are in real need of assistance. I shall lie much obliged if you will kindly give the matter publicity through your columns. Any person desiring to make a claim on the funds should communicate with the District Repatriation Officer at Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, or Dunedin, to whom I have issued full instructions.
