Hon W. Nosworthy stated arrangements were being made with tlie Defence Department for housing immigrants, unable to secure houses. THE WHEAT POSITION. Jit Hon. W .F. Massey stated that sufficient wheat was in the dominion to last till next harvest. MONEY FOR SOLDIERS. Hon 1). H. Guthrie said the £500,()00 authorised for soldier settlements had been expended, and further commitments incurred. PRIVATE MEMBERS’ NEW BILLS. The foliowing Bills wore introduced and read a first time:—Gisborne Harbour Amendment, (Mr Lysnar) ; Anzac Day, (Col: Mitchell) ; Wlinkataiie Harbour Amendment, (Mr Hockley); Wan ganui Borough Council Empowering, (Mr Voitch). LAST NIGHT’S BUSINESS. At tlie evening sitting of the House the War Pensions Amendment Bill was read a second time. The remainder of the sitting was taken up with a statement by Hon E. I’. Lee, Minister of External Affairs, on the Government of Samoa. The House rose at 9.35.
