I (By Telegraph.— Special to Guardian.) * CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. 1 Messrs Mat soil arid Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale yester- . day:— i Reef.—The average yarding at the sale included some extra good quality beef. Tlie market was firm in all classes. Best steers, £2B to £34; prime, £22 10s to £27 10s; medium, £l6 10s to £2l 10s; inferior and graziers sorts

£l3 15s to £l6; cows and heifers, £ll 10s to £ls 10s. A few extra sorts made £2l; light and unfinished £9 to £ll 6s. Store cattle. —There was a com para- , tirely small yarding, mostly, made up ! of odds and ciiijs, and were sold similar ■ to previous markets. No really quot- i able lines were offering. j Store Sheep—lt was the largestyard ill" for some considerable time, including a good few dealers’ sheep, and some god lines of wethers. The marnot was much*the same as last week. Forward wethers 34s to 37s 6d ; a few extra good made 41s 4d; best hoggets to 325; medium 26s to §Bs 9d ; best 2-tooth ewes t° 30s; S.M. ewes 30s to 365. One good line 4, 6 and Bths made 41s 6d; unfinished inferior 20s to 245. A good number of dealers’ and travelled sheep

were withdrawn. Fat sheep.—Ah extra large yarding, including many good sheep. Too many for- the butchers’ requirements, but grazers were operating freely on lighter and unfinished sorts which saved the situation. The market opened easier than last week, but improved later on. Best wethers to 635, a. few extra making 68s to 75s 6d ; prime, -13 s 6d to 565; medium 40s to 435; light and inferior 36s to 30s 6d; best ewes to 71s; prime 38s to 465; medium 33s to 36s 6d; lighter sorts 26s to 325. ,
