The wreck of the Dacron attracted a large number of sight-seers yesterday. The little boat was badly breached by the sea during Saturday night, and will break up quickly if a heavy sea rolls home. A quantity of the timber was removed, but owing to the danger to life, the work was suspended. As a result, of the breach in the vessel’s side,

sand gravel will fill the bull, and render salvaging of the machinery difficult. The steamer Nile, of Westport, js not available at present for the South work. The boat has lieen under repairs for sonic two months, and is expected to be ready for sea this week, but a large amount of local freight has been accumulating and the disposal of this will take sonic time. The directors are, however, considering to-night the question of the Nile taking up the South Westland run.
