POLLARD’S PICTURES. “ CHOOSING A WIFE.”—MONDAY. “Choosing a Wile” is a- fine dramatic presentation of man’s greatest problem, and the production, a First National film drama, is in ev'ery way worthy of the theme. The story is of a woman, Dorothy Blossom, who unexpectedly fincfs the chili of the years of loneliness driven from Dor heart by an unexpected written proposal from a man she admires. Dorothy sees spinsterhood vanish before the rosy ddeains of a belated love—then, the soft chiming chorus of wedding bells becomes a harsh grating voice of derision in the tragic Revelation that the proposal was intended for the girl she liad risen from childhood. The scene between them is extremfeiy dramatic. -He offers to marry her, hut she says lie is only doing it to spare her humiliation, and not because lie loves her. Ho lcavtes her heart broken and in a state of collapse. Outside lie tries to assemble his conflicting .emotions, and collect his thoughts. The final climax symbolizes the reasoning of a man’s mind, which weighs the qualities of womanhood and presents the distinction of feminine character which affects the problem of choosing a wife. A Topical and Comedy will also he shown. On AVednesday next Pollards will screen “The Winchester A\ 7 oman,” starring Alice Joyce.
