Owing to an increase in the victims of the prevailing epidemic the State | school was closed down this afternoon ■ for a week. \ There will lie a working bee on the bowling green to-morrow afternoon, when top-dressing will he carried out. As many members as can make it convenient to attend will he welcomed. Mr C. A. K. Bradley, of Westport, I is credited with drawing the highest gratuity of any member of the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces (states the “Westport Times”). The amount drawn was £l3l odd—one day (or Is (kl) off the possible. He left with the Main Body in September, 1914, and returned on December 26th, 1919.
