Private advices state at the tea sales at Colombo on Wednesday the market was excited, with heavy from all countries. Prices for common' sorts advanced four to six cents. LAMBING SEASON. (Received this day at 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 23. The ‘Daily Telegraph” states the autumn lambing in a. majority of districts in New South Wales, are a failure, almost a. blank in many districts. Spring lambing in the latter districts are expected to give better results, now that the pasture prospects are favourable, owing to the late rain. A fairly general summer lambing will be attempted where practicable.

Blakeley, President of the Australian Workers’ Union, stated owing to the northern New South Wales sugar growers refusing to meet the union in conference to adjust working conditions, the agreement was not signed. York therefore would be held up. Mr Hughes has promised to intervene. PERTH STRIKE. PERTH, July 28. Strikers rejected the Government’s terms, unless assurances are given of no victimisation and other conditions.
