Messrs' Matson ahd 1 Cb'. report 1 iV-foh lows regarding their stock- eale yesteiv -. day:— Store sheep.—There was a larger entry and the market remains firm at last week’s prices, except for forward wethers, which showed a decided improvement. Best forward wethers sold up to 37s 9d : ; best hoggets up to 80s, best 2-tooth ewes up to 38s fid; others' from 30s to 355. Aged ■ and inferior sorts from ,16s 3d to 225.
Fat sheep.—There was a much larger entry, consequently last week’s famine prices were not maintained. However, there was a good sale, equal to a fortnight ago. A number of good Cheep were offered. Best wethers to 61s 6d, a few oxtra good making 68s 6d to TOs 6d prime, 45s to 57s 6d;.medium sorts, 87s to 40s 6d. Of ewes, not many were yarded, but they sold proportionately well, up to 58s 6d; medium 37s 6d to ~ 41s; lighter 27s 6d to 365. Beef.—A medium yarding including some of excellent quality. Best steers sold to £29. A few extra good ones making to £37; prime £22 10s; inferior and grazers sorts'£l4 10s to £l6; cows and heifers £l2 to £ls 17s 6d; a few extra making £lB 5s to £2l 10s; light and unfinished £9 5s to £ll 10s. The market all round was firmer. Store cattle. —A" small yarding and the market wis similar to last week and thero is every prospect of remaining firm. —-P
