PROFITEERING CHARGES
(Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 20. Nine informations of alleged breaches of the Anti-profiteering Section of the Board of Trade Act., 1019; have liee-i laid against tdo Christchurch firms, a Lyttelton firm and a Christchurch chemist, by the secretary of the local Price Investigation Tribunal. Six of the nine informations have been iaul against a firm of tobacco importers an 1 fancy goods merchants, and all relate to the alleged, unreasonably high price charged for Clarence cigarettes. An other firm of merchants is being proceeded against on a. similar charge .n respect of the same brand of cigarettes. The local chemist is being proceeded against for having, it is alleged charged an unreasonably high price for ;• “Winchester” (half a gallon) of horol This is a proprietary line used us a month wash and disinfectant. ’Hie Lyt telton firm is to be called upon to answer a charge of selling rabbit traps at what are alleged to be unreasonably high priees. ,
