(Per Press Association.! CL ABB Y BEATS GLEESON. GISBORNE, July 16. At tin* boxing tournament here this evening, Jimmy Clabby met Les Gleeson for a purse of £3OO. Gleeson was outclassed from the beginning. In the tenth round'lie was sent down for eight seconds. During the following round Gleeson was again knocked down. He rose at seven seconds, and dropped on to his knee instantly. He was technically on his feet (although a beaten man) when the referee, who liad gone on counting, called “out.” ,c’L 4BBY TO EIGHT HOLLAND. WANGANUI, July 16. Owing to Tommy Uren suffering from an attack of mumps, the Wanganui Amateur Boxing Association to-night reported that it had secured Jimmy Clabby to light Fritz Holland on the 23rd of July. CHAMPIONSHIPS ENTRIES. HASTINGS, July 16, Fifty-four entries have been received for the New Zealand Amateur Boxing Championships to he held at Hastings oil the 27th, 28th, and 29th-July. All classes are well represented and the entries constitute a^record.
