Bell gave notice of the Law Practitioners Amendment Bill. Hon. Thomson gave notice of motion affirming that the time has come when the Government should adopt a definite policy for the development of fishing industry, for the purpose of* providing cheap food for the people, manure for the land, and building up of the fishing population, upon which the Navy could depend in time of emergency. The Council adjourned at 2.40 p.m. THE HOUSE. The House met at 2.30 p.m. In the House the following Bills were dealt with : Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Bill, second reading, (Mr Savage). Destitute Persons Amcndmont Bill second reading (Mr Harris). Maori War Medal Bill, second reading (Mr Wright). Shops and Offices Act Amendment Bill, second reading (Mr McCombs). Revocation of Naturalisation Amendment Bill, passed (Hon Anderson); Registration of Aliens .Amendment Bill, second reading (Hon -Anderson) Marriage Amendment Bill, second reading (Hon Anderson). Customs Amendment Bill, passed .ill stages (Hon. Sir TV. H. Herries.) Tlio House rose at 9.30 p.m.
