ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET BIG JUMP IN SHEEP. (By Telegraph.— Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sole yesterday:— Store Sheep—A small yarding mostly hoggets and old ewes and a few 2 tooth ewes. The market opened firm at last week’s rates and continued so right through the sale. Best hoggets sold up to 28/-, wethers Up to 33/0; 2 tooth ewes up to 36/6; aged and inferior sorts from 15/- to 20/-. . Fat Sheep—A very small yarding, hardly sufficient supply for butclier’.° requirements, consequently the market was decidedly dearer markets for years. We c-an quote the market up at anything fsom 4/- to 8!- above last week’s rates all round, and no clianc i of getting easier, unless frozen meat js utilised for local requirements. Fat cattle-—A medium yarding and the quality on the whole was good. Prices were quite equal to last week and the demand wan firm. Extra steers sold to £37/10/-; prime £22 to £26; unfinished £l6/10/- to £lB/10/-; cows and heifers £l2/10/- to £l4, and up to £lB for very heavy. Store Cattle—A very small yarding and the demand for all classes was good. No quotable lines were sold, but the tone of the market all round was much firmer and is likely to remain so.
