The sum of £4,000,000 would be re-' quircd during the first few years for land purchase, immigration, cultural and public works. Dr. Branressen, of the United States, ( was elected President of the Conference,: and Dr. Max Nordau, vice-president.

NAVAL MISSION RECALLED. LONDON, July 8. In the House of Commons, replying to a question, Mr Walter Long, First Lord of the Admiralty, said the British Naval Mission, with General Wrangel In the Crimea, was being withdrawn. He added that America and France still had naval representatives accredited to | General Wrangel.
