AMUSEMENTS.

POLLARD’S PICTURES.

PRINCESS THEATRE MONDAY NEXT.

‘GINGER "MICK.”

“ The Church Record ” says:—“ In all respects “ Ginger Mick ” is a worthy successor to “The Sentimental Bloke.” This, coming from a religious organ, adds the finishing touch to the universal opinion that C. J. Dennis’ works appeal to all classes of the community. Mr Raymond Longford who produced and directed “ The Sentimental Bloke,” has made a superlative six-reel picture of “ Ginger Mick,” the world’s exhibiting rights of which have been asquired by Mr E. J. Carroll, and it will be shown for the first time in Hokitika at the Princess Theatre for one night only on Monday next. In “ Ginger Mick ” are seen Gilbert Emery as “Mick,” Arthur Tauchert and Lottie Lyell as “The Bloke” and Doreen,” little Arthur Tauchert as the kid (now six, years old), George Harpin' as Keith, and Marion Waters as Rose Thick’s sweetheart) and a host of other characters that did not figure in “ The Sentimental Bloke.” The scenes open on the farm at Berry, then move on to Sydney, and alternate thereafter from Gallipoli to Australia. “ Ginger Mick ” is of course the dominating character. Untrained in morals or manners, launched into life with only his emotions for a guide, his better self needs a good deal of rousing, but •in “ Mick’s ” case, faithfully and excellently portrayed in the picture, the war serves as a fire by which, the gold is refined. The final scenes of the film, being natural and human, have a most impressive effect u]xm the audience. The box plan is now open at Mclntosh’s, the prices are 2s Id circle, and Is Id stalls.
