PEACE TREATY
fAUSTUAUAN & N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION]
DIVIDING THE SPOIL
PARIS, July 1
The “Matin” criticises Hon Lloyd George’s supposed method for calculating and distributing reparation payments as delivered. Lloyd George bases his calculation on the numbers of lives lost by the various countries in the war, by which France and England receive reparations in proportions of 11 to 5. The ‘Matin” protests this does not provide compensations for the devastated northern regions.
