All Saints Institute will meet this Mining at the schoolroom at 8 o’clock, ’apers by members on their own sub--sct. A very pleasant social evening was pent at the Mental Hospital last eventig, the occasion being a farewell to Miss M. Kirwau who is leaving on L’uesday next to take up a position in ( he Porirua Mental Hospital. During , m interval Mr Wormington on behalf ,f the staff o(~ the Mental Hospital presented Miss Kirwan with a travelling rug as a token of the esteem n ivhich she was held. Mr Wormington made eulogistic references to Miss Kirwan and wished her every prosperity and nappiness in her new sphere of work. Mr L. Kirwan returned thanks j on behalf of his sister. 'Hie assemblage then rose and sang “For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow.” Dancing was then re- ' sumed and continued until midnight. During the evening supper was handed round and those present did full justice to the good tilings piovided. Songs were rendered by Mrs Johnston, Messrs Keane and Close, and a recitation by Mr Dawson entitled “At the Football* Match Last Saturday” and proved a very amusing item.
