Another round of the Ranfurly Shield Cornpetiton was decided here to-day, when Bay of Plenty (challengers) met the Wellington Rugby representative fifteen. The home team won by 22 points to 3, after a fairly hard-fought game, in which they by no means had tilings all their own way, until the last quarter of an hour when they piled up the scores. At the end of the first half they were leading by three points only and well on in the second Half the score stood six to three in the home team’s favour. The visitors died hard. The majority of Wellington’s points being compiled in the last stages of the contest. A feature of the game was the wonderfully quick recovery on the part of the Bay of Plenty representatives.
