WEDDING BELLS.

There was a large gathering of friends at St -Mary’s Church this morning at 8 o’clock when Miss Alice Stoplorth, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Thos. Stoplorth of Hokitika was united to Mi William L. Joyce, formerly Sergt.-Major (!ii the N.Z. Permanent Staff. Tlie ltev. Father O’Sullivan conducted the ceremony, nuptial mass being celebrated. The bride wlm was given away by her fatlier looked charming in a navy blue costume and white fur, with a wine colour velour hat and carried a prayer book with streamers. Miss Kathleen Foster the bridesmaid, wearing a navy blue costume and fawn t use's n straw hat and carried a dainty bouquet. Mr Thomas Stopfortli (.brother of the bride), was best man. As the bride cn tered and left the church, the wedding march being played by Miss Daly. The happy couple leave by the evening train en route to Canterbury where the honey*moop will he spent,
