ST JOHN'S AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION.

N o,«' that (here in a complete revival in (fiy work of i,unbalance organisation, oq ;i most thorough system, (o be extended, throughput tlie whole of the country industries aud town centres, while, each of the branches of St. John Ambulance Association have in the past functioned with a great amount of success, there is every appearance of that success, being excelled. The activities of the officers of all the unit branches of the (Yost Coast seen) tek have one watchword of progress. The chief centre to press progress on will be a public spirited sense of enterprise of- the citizens of (he. town, centres, to. assist in bringing abpu( a flipsf coipprelienpye of cirgapjsafipfi tha( will excel the past activities of tbe different upif bi'qip'Jies of (he West- Coast. As j regards (lie. local organisation of Hoki- | ilka, there Is a, standing brilliancy of I the branch’s activity in the past; and j judging the names of the new officers elected to the organisation, they will be of a paramount assistance (o the officers of the local organisations, who • have been keeping the organisation | ideals before the public and endeavouring to lead an Initiative of such a valuable capacity to bring, home to the community generally, tho effective means for safeguarding health and teaching measures of safeguard for the welfare of persons in accident. During the last . three months, there has been a most j marked activity in the northern portion of the district, the brunch known as the Te Kinga sub-centre, the great ' success, which this branch lias achieved stands out most foremost of any of the branches in New Zealand. They are fully justified to extend their new scheme of organisation, to the whole of the country districts of the West Coast. The organising lecturer who has been in this district for the last week, has submitted to all the sawmill employees and employers, a most comprehensive scheme of organisation. The scheme lias been accepted with unanimous decision everywhere, as far as circum-

stances have permitted the scheme to be discussed. It is also the intention of this branch, to endeavour to bring about a West Coast executive, for the management of tho work in the country districts. The executive will be composed of persons who will have the ability to disburse the objective of St John Ambulance Association idea.s. The composition of that executive will he composed of an equal representation of the unit branches now existing on the Const. With the progress that has been accomplished in the past by tiltunit branches, and with such an objective as a West Coast executive, and the

powerful auxiliary of unity and cooperation should bring absolute efficiency to all concerned. While the preliminary measures are being taken for this great objective to become a standard fact, the Te Kinga executive will continue their energies to complete the

organisation of country districts, and il such success is achieved to which has been accomplished in the sawmills of

this district, including the farming dis. tricts during the last month, the WestCoast will rank as the foremost organ!, sation in Australasia. Firstly because it lias the natural resourves of industry, and the persons following those different varieties of industry, who have

oivon their tangible testimony of support to St John Ambulance Association. Secondly, tlie calibre of persons

who are now interesting themselves in the system of the sub centre system of management speaks for the future progress of the organisation. The organisation when fully constituted .will have a great future in front of them, to bring in definite measures for the welfare of all communities.
