The reserved judgment was delivered this morning by Mr McCarthy, S.M., in the series of charges brought by the Grown in respect of various charges of profiteering. Six of the eases concerned the sale of alarm clocks, and the seventh sale of a child’s coat. The Magistrate dismissed tho eases in respect of alarm clocks, hut imposed a fine of £SO on tlie D.f.C. in respect of the sale of a child’s coat.
COAL Ml NEILS REiTSAL. TO AGREE TO ARBITRATION.
WELLINGTON, June 28. The Coal Miners Association have ae_ copted Mr Massey’s proposal that Mr Fraser act, as arbitrator in the coal mines dispute. Mr Arbuckle lias replied to Air Massey that lie cannot accept Air Fraser. He doubts not Eraser’s impartiality, but wants someone who understands the conditions in coal mines, and suggests P. Daily. Arbuckle states lie has been instructed not to agree to other basis of settlement than those suggested by Mr Massey to the owners and rejected by them.
