" LISTENING AT KEYHOLES."
•Spiritualism was denounced in no unmeasured terms by Dr A. J. Hutton, the eminent Presbyterian preacher, at the business men’s service at the Y.M.C.A. Leeds. He described Spiritualists as “sneaking, about listening at keyholes to see what was going on in the other world.” Consideration of the contempt with which people who peeped world were regarded should make these people ashamed of themselves. He had no patience with people who wanted to know everything. God had mercifully provided an eyelid, lest man should see too much. It was provided that they should see only as much ns they could deal with, and that was enough. Not one of them was living up to the height of what they knew to-day. It would he time enough to get more when they had exhausted what they had. They could not live with a faith that presented no difficulties),' fust as a. propeller could not work efficiently without water to react on. The trouble with so many people was that their propellers were out of water, and were doing no useful work—just whirring.
