Success continues to attend the developments at the Reefton Coal Company’s mine at Burke’s Creek. Some time ago a drive was put into the hill some distance from the then workings, and after going a considerable distanco a fine seam of hard coal was struck. This is now being mined in largo quantities, and it is safe to say that nothing better has been put on the Reefton market. It is the nearest approach to bituminous coal that has been mined in this district.
