It. Johnston to be captain, Carr, Douglas, A. E. R. Gilligan, Dolphin, Parkin, Hobbs, Woolley, Hendron, and Hearne. For remaining vacancies Rev. Gillingham, Fender, George Gunn, Mead, and J. Tyldesley. He states Falcon M.P. is unlikely to go owing to the autumn session. ENGLISH CRICKET AVERAGES. LONDON, Jupe 20. The county cricket competitions aie concluding., Out of 61 county matches only four were not played out in tf c allotted three days. These were interfered with by rain, but the weather was generally favourable. There is a distinctly brighter spirit in this season’s wicket. Hobbs (Surrey) leads the ’batting averages with an average of 60.84, and next in order are Lee (Middlesex), 59.54; Hendren (Middlesex) 59.11; Hearne (Middlesex) 56.53. Rhodes (Yorkshire) heads the bowlinn- averages with 46 wickets And nn average of 10.15. Cook (Kent) took 61 wickets for an average of 12. Yorkshire is the lending team in the county championship.
