MONDAY, JUNE 21st. (Before His Honour Mr Justice Herdman.) SITTINGS CONCLUDED. Yesterday afternoon at four o’clock when the hearing of the s uit for declara tion of trust, G. W .Lopas v. G. E. Mclntosh was due for hearing, it was announced that a settlement' had been arrived at, and 1 the case was withdrawn. Tills, morning, in the remaining case set down for hearing at the present sittings, it wa s announced that a settlement had also been arranged between the parties. This was the east; of West, land Hospitals and Charitable 'Aid Board v. William Peter Daly, a claim for £l5O damages. The statement of claim showed the plaintiffs were the owner s of 500 acres of land vested in them and known as the Indigent Miners’ Endowment Reserve at Lake Mahinapua. It was claimed that between Bth June 1919 and 7th July 1919, the defendant cut 150,000 feet of timber thereof, for which the plaintiffs claimed £l5O. This concluded the sittings.
