Thomas, secretary of the Railwnymen’s Union, in a speech, said the Irish railwaymen, who interviewed Hon Lloyd George, had decided that whatever the consequences may-be, they will not give way in their determination not to work trains for the military to carry munitions and soldiers in Ireland. He added the Trade Unionists and the Government had national obligations, THE LONDONDERRY RIOTS. LONDON, June 20. Another riot occurred at Lendon-, derry, where a crowd in/a battle with stones against the Sinn Feiners. Many Women participated on both sides. Many was some indiscriminate rifle and revolver shooting. At midnight a force of troops arrived. The rioters belonging to the- Unionist element then took up a position on the Carlisle ridge in the city, and prevented numbers of the Sinn Feiners from returning to their homes. The Sinn Feiners then attempted to cross the river in . beats. They were driven back by rifle bullets. They were -compelled to billet themselves with friends. The troops are now diligently Marching all pedestrians for arms.

An official return of Sinn Fein outrages since Ist January 1919, to 30th April 1920, includes forty-one murders of policemen or officials, and six civilians and 343 incendiary fires, whereof 294 occurred ip. April.
SJNN FEIN ATTACK. LONDON, Jupe 21. Two hundred Sinn Feiners made a night attack on the police barracks at Farran, 14 miles from Conk. The 3len " Feiners blew up a corner of the barracks, and followed this up with a fiisilade of revolver and rifle shots. The , garrison of policemen pluckily held out, until reinforcements/ arrived sufficient to put the attackers to flight. The Sinn Feiners abandoned their threo motor-cars. A crisis has been reached, the railwaymen defying Lloyd George’s threat to close the railways, and are fully prepared fev a fight, supported by Republican funds.
