UNREST IN NEAR EAST. DELHI, June 17.

Indecision of policy in Mesopotamia is alleged to be rapidly developing an acute situation in that country. Several disturbances are said lately to have occurred in Bagdad. A certain agitator, for delivering inflammatory speeches, was arrested. . Crowds gathered at a mosque and elsewhere, and collected arms, and set out to rescue the agitator. Rioting then occurred. When the police intervened, there were a number of casualties; how many is unknown. ( An armoured car attacked the people and on a few shots being fired, the crowd dispersed. Recently several respectable Arab residents of Bagdad have been attacked at night with stones. An official communique warns disturbers that the Government will not fail to take the necessary steps to keep peace.
