The Disputes Committee of the City Council and Trades Hall have compromised by splitting the difference on the employees’ demand. A mass meeting of men endorsed tbe decision which is now awaiting the approval of the Council. This promises to make available electricity for lighting and power purposes, besides providing the way, for a general readjustment.
