He is an ardent yachtsman and. hopes to indulge in yachting 'in Australia, especially in Sydney harbour, which he has longed to see. He had a champion boat in every class and always sailed his own boat. He intends to purchase one in Australia. He is an enthusiastic hunter and is considered one of the best game shots. He has not played football because he was hurt-in his schooldays. He looks forward to participating m the delights of surfing and has driven his own motor car ever since motor cars existed. He occasionally visited Switzerland for winter sports and therefore is anxious to sec Mount Kosciusko. He is interested in modern farm methods and possesses country properties u Kent and Lancashire. Lord Forster is not r 'so keenlv interested in racing as in sports calling for '• physical prowess. He has never owned a race horse, out attends Ascot and looks forward to the , wonderful spectacle of the Melbourne Cup. Ho took Honours degree m law at Oxford and was on the civil member claims commission, stationed _av General Headquarters in France during the war time, until the Coalition Government was formed,, when he was ap- ! pointed Financial Secretary to the War ! Office He was primarily concerned in the purchase of the first Australian wool clip. 'His only two sons vero ! killed in the war, the elder an mfantry- ■ man, was in the first battle of Asn !i n 1914, and the younger with tne I Scots Greys when cavalry were ad, « vanoing on Cateau mOc J* *• 1 where the Autralians fought their last battle.

Lady Forster is keenly interested in music, art atid social .questions and in women/s movement.
