Since the first distribution of profits from the estate of the late F. E. McCarthy in 1913, roughly half of which goes to benefit Charitable and Educational Institutions in Wellington districts, the repressive sum of £41,222 lias been distributed. According to the terms of the trust, tile amount available in tlie manner referred to lor distribution as a result of operations in 1919 is £6,465 or £1353 more than the preceding year. At the annual meeting of the Board of Trust yesterday, seventy applications for grants wore received from charitable and educational institutions, and of that numbei sixtythree were considered favourably.
