A DESTRUCTIVE FIRE

OTIRA HOSPITAL DESTROYED

Word was received by the Westland Charitable Aid Board this morning that Otira Cottage Hospital was totally de_ stroved by fire at an early hour this morning. It is understood that nothin,, was saved. The building was a comparatively new structure and was eminently suitable for its purpose. Practically nothing was saved. The doctor, matron and staff were on the premises at the time. The cause of the outbreak is a mystery. There is an jnsur■nce, of £BOO on tbe building and contents, but the loss will be a very substantial one for the local body.
