THE REASON WHY. MELBOURNE, June 19. -With reference to tlie Apostolic delegates meeting the Prince, it is stated this is the outcome of comment upon the apparent aloofness of the- Roman Catholic Associations in welcoming and honoring the Prince. Dr Phelan, who is Bishop of Sale, explains that when th)2 matter was considered this was regarded as the best way Catholics could officially be represented. The Church’s idea of government was unity, and that the official head would yoice the sentiments of all its organisations.
