BOXING.
(Per Press Association.) GISBORNE, June 9. The professional boxing contest between Les Gleeson (Australia) and Jack Heeney (Gisborne) went the full 15 rounds. Gleeson was awarded the decision on points, but there was only a narrow margin between the pair. In a heavy-weight professional contest, Tom Heeney (Gisborne) beat George Modrick (Auckland) on points.
