VARIOUS RESOLUTIONS. DUNEDIN, June 5.

Tlie Farmers’ Union Conference resolved to protest against military training camps extending over a period of more than three or four months; that the Minister of Justice be written to protesting against undesirables being sent into the country/ by city magistrates ; that tlie Government be asked, in fixing the price of wheat, to deal with the matter not later than November in each year, so as to allow farmers to prepare for growing crops; that the conference considers that the time has arrived for a shipping line to be owned by the producers and the Government; that tho levy on local bodies for the purpose of raising necessary funds for hospital and charitable aid purposes mi. duly taxes the holders of rural properties, and that the Government be asked to alter the law .so as to raise the money oil a more equitable basis. , It was decided to support the resolution passed at the Meat and Wool Conference asking the Government to appoint a highly-qualified man in New Zealand and one in England to look after the disposal of Dominion produce, also tho meeting further expressed tho opinion that the appointments should be detached from the High Commissioner’s Office.
