Tho Races opened in fine weather, and course rather heavy after the rain. Hunt Club Cup—Totara Jack 1, Maira 2, Mestee 3. Scr—Master -arold. Won by ten lengths. Time 6.4. Ranfurly Welter— Royal Abbey 1, Demoiselle 2, Ngata 3. Scr.— Aircraft, Sir Fanciful.,. Won by three quarters of a length. Time 1-40 3-5. Remuera Hurdles—Kauri King 1, Rekan.ni 2, Glutenanus 3. Also started: Thrace, Pendoon. Won by half a length. Time 4.1.. ? ' ■_ GREAT NORTHERN STEEPLECHASE— Lochella 1, Slowcoach 2, Old Mungindi. Also Started, No Surrender, Glanful, Omahu, Tenacious, Penetone, Golden Glow, Garryowen. Slowcoach and Garryowen were in the van when they went up the hill for the last I time, and the latter fell. Lochella who. had been running well hack in the early stages challenged and coming .along in fine style cut down the light weight and won by 24 lengths, with Old Mungindo 20 lengths away third. Time 8.32. Garryowen broke his leg and was destroyed. King George Handicap— I Glencanny 1, 'Hyllus 2, Parisian Diamond 3. Won by half a length. Time 1.33 3-5. . I Panmure Hurdles —Keystone 1, Koi eone 2, Ma Cooper 3. Won by two i lengths. Time 3.38 3-5. ! Carbine Plate—Monoplane 1, lOnj koria 2, Sir Fanciful 3. Won by four j lengths. Time 1.5. .
