RETURNED SOLDIERS CONFERENCE.

WELLINGTON, June 4
i At the lleturned Soldiers’ Conference yesterday, Dr Boxer (Hastings) was reelected president. The following resolutions were passed unanimously:—(l) That the conference expressed great dissatisfaction with the attitude of the Prime Minister and Minister of Lands, on the question of D.S.S. Act, as expressed by them to a deputation from this conference this morning. (2; That the conference accepts the assurance of the Prime Minister and Minister of .Lands that instructions ihave been given to Land Boards that applieati'ons for loans for purchase of houses he received and considered in special eases.
(3) That the conference strongly protests against the decision of Cabinet that such applications lie received and considered only in special cases. (4) That the conference regrets exceedingly the above decision of Cabinet was not made public: until the deputation to the Minister this morning. (5) That the Conference requests the Government to give an assurance forthwith that the above decision will remain in force only until next session of Parliament.
(6) That the conference strongly urges upon Government the cases of men who entered into contracts or obtained options prior to April 22nd last, he treated as special cases with the meaning of the Cabinet Minute.
, (7) That the strongest representations he made to Parliament* to appropriate sufficient money to enable application for loans for purchase of land and blouses to he made in the same manner as before Cabinet’s decision.
