The decision of a large section of the Sydney University footballers to play the ‘League game is announced. It has led'to much criticism and severe condemnation in amateur circles. With a view of testing the position, however, the Secretary of the University League Football Club has circularised all sporting bodies, asking them to attend a conference to discuss the question of the amateur status of athletes and also' tlib formation of a wealthier body .than tlie.
