For and on behalf of the inhabitants of the WESTLAND COUNTY in the area bounded bv the Ternmakau ' and . Mikonui rivers, the Westland County Council is promoting a PETITION to His Excellency the Governord-General praying: (a) For the constitution of an Electric Power District as above, excluding the Boroughs of Knmara, Hokitika and Boss. (b) That the Board shall be named “The Westland Electric Power Board,” and consist of nine elective members. '[’lie number of ratepayers in the proposed constituent district is 1,073, and the rateable value of the property within the district is £340,239, capital value; and £196,628, unimproved value. To render the petition effective in the preliminary object of constituting the Elctric Power District, at least onefourth of the number of ratepayers must sign: Threafter it will be for the ratepayers to elect the Board of Management which will conduct further control according to the nature of the power, project brought forward.
