DEMAND FOR RELEASE. « SYDNEY, June 1-To-day the New South Wales Seamen’s Union passed a resolution demanding the release of the twelve Industrial workers of the World prisoners, who were gaoled many months ago over fires in Sydney. The seamen demand their release within one month and they threaten drastic action m the event of a, refusal. SYDNEY MEAT SHORTAGE. SYDNEY, June 1\t the Price of Meat Inquiry it ns said bv dealers that a shortage of meat suonlies was expected. It was pointed out that mutton could be ibtained from cold storage locally. Jieso from Victoria and Now Zealand. These outside .sources would have to be drawn upon whether or not the drought broke.
