IN IRELAND.

[By Electric Telegraph—Copyngno.i : FIGHTING IN LIMERICK. POLICE BARRACKS BURNED. LONDON, May 29. , There was a desperate night attack ou Killmallock Police barracks in County Limerick. A tiny garrison held out for, five hours against 400 men, until the barracks caught fire and were burned to the ground. Two police defenders were burned to death and another dangerously wounded. It is believed that two S;nn Feinners were killed and others wounded; but details are lacking, as Kilmallock is isolated owing to the cutting or the telephone and telegraph wires and the tearing up of the railway lines . A later message states that communication with Kilmallock is still unrestored and the excitement in the district is intense. Other barracks were attacked and burned. The whole garrison at Kilmallock were rounded up, burning petrol being thrown on the roof of the barracks from a neighbouring house, compelling the defenders to surrender. • There was a gruesome discovery at Limerick Junction, when a fireman found a human head impaled on the engine of a mail train. The remains on the mail train are now said to'he a human heart; but probably it is gruesome joke, as a search of the railway line docs not reveal evidence of an aecicient.
