It is hoped to have the fidl list completed not later than Wednesday and a meeting will be held thereafter to pass the accounts for payment. The accounts will run into a good round sum, well-up to four figures in fact, but there is also a substantial sum in recoveries, and with the Government subsidy on the net expenditure, the liability to the local bodies is expected to be not more than £3OO.
The Westland Acclimatisation Society is to the fore again with a very fine booklet to advertise Westland. The publication is aptly styled “Beautiful Westland,” and it is all that its name implies. It contains a fine range of views typical of all parts of the district. The photographs are produced very finely, and altogether it is a very artistic production. The price is 3s pel copy. A copy of this very fine work was presented to the Prince of Wales when here. The booklet should find its way to all parts cjf the world as it is one of the best advertisements of Westland scenery yet -put out. The booklet is sure to be in great favour for sending abroad or as gifts to friends in other parts of the Dominion, and as the issue is limited early application for copies should be made.
