A Supreme Court action for substantial damages is likely to eventuate in respect to a coach accident which occurred some few months ago on the Otira Gorge. On the occasion in question Mr J, C. Wells of Kauieri, received injuries which necessitated his admission to hospital find an action against Cobb and Coy, arising out of the accident 's m w being commenced. The damages claimed exceed £2,000.
At the annual meeting of the Hokitika Gas Company last evening reference was made to the faithful service rendered by the Company to the community over a long term of years. Last night the forty sixth annual meeting was held, and looking back over the long term of the Company’s operations, it was pleasant to record, said one of the directors, that the Company had continued to serve the town with its gas supply so uninterrupetdlv. Despite various causes of dislocation, the necessity at times for repairs and renewals, the supply to the community had been mrintained without a serious break. It had been a public service well maintained and well regulated.
