HOKITIKA HARBOUR BOARD

SATURDAY, MAY 22nd

The Board met at 5 p.m. Present — Messrs 11. Wild (Cmunnan), G. H. Chapman, C> J. Nightingale, and J. J. Breeze.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed and outward eorespondence approved.

IN WARD COItRESPON DENCE.

From Excelsior Football Club, asking for use of goods shed for training two or three evenings per week. —Granted at 2s 6d per week, subject to conditions named in request. From J. A. Hart, Koiterangi, in regard to rates when not in possession of property^—Received. From Otago Harbour Board, asking for information re loans and interest, and rates struck. —Received. From Valuation Department, asking for transfers and amendments. —Received.

From Land and Income Tax Department, asking for particulars of debenture holders.—Received.

From 0. Barton, thanking Board for appointment as clerk and rate collector. —Received.

From A. H. Richards, Hokitika, notifying change of ownership in his property.—Received. From W. Scott, Harbormaster, reporting a good straight channel to sea with a depth of 11 feet neap, and 13 feet spring tides.—Received. Tt was proposed by Mr Wild, seconded by Mr Chapman, that a charge of 10 per cent interest lie charged on all over due rates. —Carried. This concluded the business and the Board then adjourned.
