ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. A QUIET MARKET. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Hay. Messrs Matson and Co. report as Willows regarding their stock sale yesterday Fat cattle—There was a smaller yarding. Good steer beef was in short supply and sold at an advance on last week. Cows and heifers , showed no change. Extra steers sold to £32; prime £lB to £23; unfinished £l4 to £l7; cows and heifers £lO 6s to £l3 and up to £l6 10s for extra. Store cattle.—There was a very small entry, practically all odd lots. No export buyers were operating and the/demand generally was poor and no quotable lines were sold.
1 Fat sheep.—Another very large yarding and the quality was very rnixed. Some excellent lines sold well, but inferior sorts were easier and hard to sell. Freezing buyers were operating sparingly. Best wethers-sold to 69s 6d; prime 41s to 495; good 33s 6d to 39s'6d; others 26s 6d to 325; best to 475; prime 29s to 365; medium 25s 6d to 28s; light and inferior 19s to 24s 6d. Lambs were the same as last market. Store sheep.—The largest entry for some week£, composed mostly of Chatham Island and Southland. The sheep market opened dull, but 'improved as the day. went on, but large parts of the entry w r as passed at auction, vendors not being prepared to accept a reduction in last week’s prices.
