KING AND QUEEN PLEASED. LONDON, May .14. The ILing and Queen at the luncheon to Mr Watts (Federal Treasurer) are reported as having displayed a warm interest in Australasian affairs. Both, are stated to be eagerly watching the Prince’s tour ,and to be gratified by the spontaneous welcome accorded him. Hon. Mr Watt (Federal Treasurer) states that at a luncheon the King expressed his pleasure at the Prince’s reception in New Zealand. LABOUR CONFERENCE PROTEST. HOBART, (May 16. The Labour Conference passed a motion disapproving of the extravagant expenditure of public money in Connection with the Prince of Wales’ visit, in view of the high cost of living and hardship amongst the workers.
