The Oceanic Steamship Coy., have purchased tho former Austrian Lloyd liner, Martha Washington, for the purpose to run in conjunction with the Ventura, and Sonoma, a three weekly service across the Pacific. They have also purchased the cargo steamer, Los Vegas, which will be incorporated with the Oceanic line. The steamers will henceforth come to Sydney under the auspices of the General Steamship Corporation of San Francisco, calling at New Zealand.
SHIPBUILDERS DECISION. (Received this day at 10.35 a.m.) SYDNEY, May 11. The Federal Executive of the Federated Society of Boilermakers and shipbuilders decided that any members or branch stinking without consent of the executive be refused assistance. It also resolved that no members employed in shipbuilding industry carried on under agreement with the Commonwealth Government, shall on any account, cease work, all disputes to he referred to a special tribunal for that purpose.
