MEETING OF HOUSEHOLDERS.
AT ARAHURA
Despite the inclemenecy of the weather there was a record attendance at tho Arahura Road School last evening. Mr D. Jellie was voted to the iebaiir., The following resolution -was carried: —•
“That this meeting of Arahura householders urges upon the Government the great-necessity for reform in the national system of education in regard to
(1) The extension of the School age and the reduction of the size of classes. (2) Tlic securing of more trained teachers.
(3) In order to give full effect to these measures a reform of the system of administration by establishing a National Education Board and Local Education Committees. The following were elected members of the Committee: —Messrs A. Richards, D. Jellie, ft. Honey, J. Fim'i, and J. Muir.
At a subsequent meeting of the now committee Mr A. Richards was voted to the chair.
