The King at Windsor, gave an audience to Lieut Frank Marriott, formerly 0 f the Twelfth Battalion, First Division A.1.F., who was wounded and blinded at Bapaume m February 19 • The Duke of Connaught and Lord Stamfordham conducted Marriott to the Kin<' who chatted with him tor -U minutes, displaying the greatest interest in the Australians operations F Marriott interviewed, said be was livin'' at Windsor. The audience was ' robahly the outcome of his Majesty s desire to pay tribute to the Australians on the eve of Anzac Day. ANZAC DAY. SYDNEY, April 26. Although to-day was gazetted as a public holiday to commemorate Anzac p aV no official demonstrations were arranged. The public spent the holiday quietly in fine, but cold weather. ,
